Watershed Restoration Projects

The South Fork Trinity River is one of four, large sub-basin areas of the Trinity River basin. The Trinity River, in turn, is the largest tributary of the Klamath River, itself the subject of a recently implemented fishery restoration program.

The South Fork Trinity River watershed is approximately 980 square miles in area. The convergence of the South Fork with the main stem of the Trinity River is located approximately four (4) miles upstream of the community of Willow Creek, California. The South Fork is the largest, undammed, Wild and Scenic River remaining in California and was once widely known for its annual runs of wild anadromous salmonids.
